It was Couples for Christ Western Australia’s turn to receive and reflect on the powerful talks and teachings from the CFC Theme Weekend Retreat 2025 originally held in Sydney — and what a beautiful echo it was during our Cluster Prayer Assembly on 19th of July.
Though compressed into just one day, the atmosphere felt every bit like a full-on conference.
Maybe it was the diverse crowd of attendees from across WA, or the creative presentations before each talk — videos, visuals, and especially the songs beautifully performed, with lyrics that echoed the message to come, or the celebration of the Holy Mass where we were joined by all family ministries including Youth for Christ (YFC) and Kids for Christ (KFC).
Perhaps it was also the blessing of having our Area Leaders’, Bro. Jayson and Sis. Leslie Quilala, presence. Whatever it was, something about this gathering made it feel truly special — a Spirit-led moment of grace for our entire cluster.
The event began with a powerful praise and worship, led by our CFC WA Cluster Head, Bro. Kit Palos. A noteworthy and rare treat: the music ministry that day included members of the upper household and other CFC WA leaders, which made the worship feel even more heartfelt and unifying.
In his exhortation, Bro. Kit reflected on Jesus’ call to His disciples:
“Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
He reminded us that this call extends to us today — our lives, our choices, and our service should all point people to Jesus.
He then challenged us to reflect: “Am I really contributing to our evangelisation? Do my words and actions lead people — my family, my friends, my community — back to Christ?”
He encouraged us to ponder on two things during worship: Not everything we do in service will be seen or praised. Much of it will remain hidden. But what matters most is being intentional — that our hearts quietly kindle a light through which others can see Christ in us.
Bro. Kit also spoke about being pilgrims of hope. The missionary path is rarely easy. There are trials, moments of doubt, and spiritual dryness. But we are called to press on — to answer the Great Commission.
And lastly, he invited us to “Return to our own Galilee” — to go back to that moment when we first encountered Jesus, to rekindle the joy and courage that once set our hearts on fire.
And with that, the entire venue lifted its voice in praise. The energy, the joy, the unity — it was unmistakable. The worship was alive, and so were our spirits.
And that was just the beginning!
If you thought the worship set the tone, wait until you hear what came next:
Bro. Carlos Jamito took us deeper into the heart of this year’s theme with a powerful Prologue that connected Scripture, history, and our very own CFC journey in Western Australia.
Get ready to return to Galilee, rediscover hope, and be reminded why we do what we do.
